I am a mostly retired Lutheran (ELCA) deacon, having served in Canada and US parishes, as well as on the staff of the Lutheran Diaconal Association, Valparaiso, IN. I have taught part time at Valparaiso University and at Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago. I have served in leadership of DIAKONIA World Federation, an ecumenical, global diaconal organization. I hold a MA in Christian Spirituality from Mundelein College, Chicago. I have participated in numerous courses, workshops, seminars, etc. over the years to deepen my skills for Spiritual Direction.

My own practice is of accompaniment, listening together for the movement of the spirit. I have accompanied people long term as they sought to deepen their spiritual life and have met short term with people who are seeking discernment or support in a time of transition. I understand my role as listening deeply, asking questions and giving reflective feedback.
