Joyce works extensively in ongoing spiritual direction, individually directed retreats, the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, and dreamwork. She marvels at the wholeness of life and God using all of creation and life experience to be in communion with us. In her work with individuals and groups, she helps people discover God present in the dailiness of life, drawing from a variety of approaches to help people recognize and respond to God’s presence.

A Roman Catholic Sister of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ, Joyce holds a Masters degree in Christian Spirituality from Creighton University (1977), a Doctor of Ministry degree in Spiritual Direction from the Graduate Theological Foundation (1992), and a certificate from the Haden Institute Dream Leader Training Program (2009). Joyce is an avid quilter and is the founding director of Bethany Retreat House (East Chicago, Indiana) where she served for 25 years.
